What we believe (Statement of Faith)

God:

  • Created the world in which we live.
  • Is Sovereign- He controls what happens with His creation.
  • Is Eternal- He has always existed and always will.
  • A Triune Being: He exists in three forms, all at the same time – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ:

  • Is the only Son of God who came to earth in human form.
  • Lived a sinless life and died a sacrificial death for every sin that mankind had committed.
  • Rose from the dead and resides in Heaven with God.
  • Promised to return to Earth to establish a Kingdom here, and all who have accepted a relationship with Him (or, as we often say, those who are “saved” or “born again) will be part of that Kingdom.

The Holy Spirit:

  • Is the presence of God here and today, as described in The Book Of Acts.
  • When we allow him to take control over every aspect of our lives, he leads us to be a more mature Christian and helps us to overcome our sinful nature.
  • Provides us with power for living, understanding of God’s ways, courage to share His love with others and guidance to live right.

The Bible:

  • Is God’s direct Word to His people; it was written by human authors under the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the Inspired Word of God that reflects His heart.
  • Is the Inerrant (meaning the absolute truth in all matters).
  • The Bible is God’s rule book for our lives and we find blessings when we are obedient to God’s Word.

Mankind:

  • Created by God: He made us Male and Female.
  • Created in God’s Spiritual Image: God created us with a Spirit, a Soul and a Body.
  • Created for a Purpose: To Conform to God’s character and to Bring Him glory in all we do. (This is only possible if we believe that Jesus’s sacrificial death on Calvary was meant for each of us, individually)

Eternal Life:

  • Promised: We are spiritual beings first and we will live forever somewhere and there are only two possibilities: Heaven and Hell.
  • Only dependent on: Whether or not you have asked Jesus Christ to accept the penalty for your sins.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit:

  • Was the promise of Jesus unto His followers in the first chapter of the Book Of Acts and was fulfilled in Acts 2 at the Day of Pentecost.
  • The Spirit was poured out fulfilling the prophecy.
  • Is a powerful experience in a believer’s life, subsequent to Salvation.
  • The Holy Spirit comes upon the believer to anoint and empower them for special service.
  • For those who receive and practice the gift, it permits a further dimension to the believer’s relationship with God.

Tithing and Offerings:

  • Tithing is God’s command for His people to give to His work through local congregations.
  • A tithe is 10 percent of one’s gross (before taxes) income.
  • The Bible supports paying one’s tithe to his or her local congregation.
  • Offerings are financial gifts above and beyond the tithe.

Biblical Sexuality:

  • Is expressly defined by God. Before birth, God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female through genetic encoding and physiological manifestation.
  • These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
  • Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

Marriage:

  • Marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.
  • God intends sexual intimacy to occur only within the confines of marriage.
  • Marriage is a covenant between one man, one woman, and God.
  • The church will decline to perform or host a marriage ceremony that is contrary to the church’s Statement of Faith or the Bible’s teachings.
